It was in this car that Phil Hill and his great friend and team mate Peter Collins won the two opening rounds of the 1958 Sports Car World Championship series. They won the 1000km classic in Argentina and the historic Sebring 12 Hours Round in Florida.
Phil Hill was the first ever American to win the F1 World Title, in 1961, and was one of the greatest ever sports car drivers, winning many classics including Le Mans three times
